There's nothing to do but head for a distant planet to meet up with a bikini-clad warrior babe who imparts ancient wisdom and power. Meanwhile, Ooze has been turning parents into zombies who craft giant metallic insects--all the better to take over the world with. This 90-minute film features some cast changes from the Fox television series, as well as better special effects and extended fight scenes, which account for the PG rating. Parents must weigh in for themselves on the famous violent-influence-or-not question. Although, like anything else, what seemed violent in 1995 may seem a bit tame today. This charming British animated short film (it's just 23 minutes long) is a 1982 production of London's Channel 4, based on the classic children's book by Raymond Briggs and crafted with a colored-pencils-on-paper look, like fluffy, hand-drawn illustrations. Small children should be entranced by the story of a small boy in rural England whose lovingly constructed snowman comes to life and takes him flying over the white-blanketed landscapes, in a beautiful rotoscoped (traced) sequence based on live-action flying footage. Part of the charm of the film is the gentle, everyday quality of its fantasy adventures: the snowman is invited in to try on clothes and play with the Christmas decorations, then plays host to the boy at a party in the woods, at which his snowy relatives do English country dances. Rudolph - The Island of Misfit Toys

Rudolph made his television debut on NBC in 1964, when Rankin/Bass produced a stop motion animated TV special of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer that became a popular hit in itself. This version was re-broadcast annually many times over the years, even after it was finally released on video and then DVD. It now airs several times during the Christmas season (on CBS rather than NBC), making it the longest-running TV special in terms of consecutive years. A small bit of trivia regarding the 1964 production, the Roman Numeral Date given at the beginning of the show is in error, missing the second "M", (MCLXIV) which equates to the year 1164. It should have read MCMLXIV to be correct. In 1976, a sequel to the Rankin-Bass original special was produced, entitled Rudolph's Shiny New Year, and then a third in 1979 entitled Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July. Then in 2001, a fourth in the series was released titled Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys.

These were done by BBC (in 2001) so don't blame me for innaccuracies! Not a P&F video for once! So let me explain why I've uploaded this... First this episode of Arthur was uploaded (to YouTube), but it was in rubbish quality and cut off at the 5 minute mark. The next uploaded copy was good quality but it was a syndicated version with one of the songs missing. 1 week before this upload, it was uploaded uncut, but it's a 4:3 version letterboxed, so it's not displayed right. Now here's my version. But it's not perfect still. Read on if you want to know why... This was recorded from the CBBC Channel (in the UK), where they crop the top and bottom of the show slighty to make it 14:9, so a little of the image is missing. That's the only bad thing about this, everything is alright! If you want ALL of the image, the "letterboxed" version on YouTube has it all but obviously looks squashed. But it's all there! Also, this episode is available on DVD in America, so you could buy it on that as well! But I haven't got it, sorry. So enjoy! Whew, that was a lot of typing.
